Will 2020 be the year you wish you read a lot of books but did not get to read any? Will it be the same old, same old or are you going to switch things up in 2020? We have great tips that will help you read more books this year:
Read what you like: The pressure of reading books that everyone is reading might be one of the reasons you are not reading as much as you want to. Read what you want to read, if you like self-help books go for it, if you prefer romance novels, don’t let anyone shame your choices.
Set a goal: With a reading goal in mind, you might actually hold yourself accountable to read books and meet your set goals. Don’t put pressure on yourself, set a realistic reading goal and crush it!
Reward yourself after reading a book: This tip is life changing! When you read a book, reward yourself, it could be with a movie or token which you could save and buy other books at the end of the year. It is a win-win.
Try different reading platforms: Have you tried audiobooks? Have you considered different e-book platforms? Do you take your paperback on your way to work? Flexibility is a game changer. Being accessible to different reading platforms will help you read more and smarter.
Join a book club: There are various reasons to join a book club one of which is that you will read at least a book every month. At Mainland Book Café, our January Book of The Month is I for don blow but I too dey press phone by Hymar David, which means you would have to read a book every month, with that you will be able to read every month.
