Lagos International Poetry Festival to debut this Year. Register

Lagos International Poetry Festivalthe first International Poetry Festival in West Africa, will debut this Year between October 28th and November 1st.

Event Detail:

Venue: Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos Island.

Date: October 28th – November 1st.

Gate Fee: Free.

The world class assemble of guests billed to grace the Festival includes Warsan Shire (London’s first young Poet Laureate), Lola Shoneyin (Author of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives), Safia Elhillo (Joint winner of the Brunel University African Poetry Prize), Audo Maikori, Dam Ajayi, Chijioke Amu Nnadi (Winner of the 2014 Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry), Aj Dagga Tolar, Tj Dema, Eke Akeem Lasisi, Bassey Ikpi, Dike Chukwumerije, Titilope Shonuga, and Inua Ellams.

The Festival has as its theme “Borderless Words” with emphasis on poetry’s capacity to bridge racial, ethnic, language, and cultural divide, and will also feature exhibitions, master classes, panel discussions, reading and performances, as well as a keynote address by Prof. J.P. Clark amongst other attractions.
